The Port of Seattle experienced a ransomware incident between August 23 and August 24, 2024. The incident was publicly disclosed around April 2025.
The compromised data types include first and last names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers or other government-issued ID numbers, and medical information. Roughly 90,000 individuals were impacted. The full extent of states affected is currently unclear, as only a Montana Attorney General report for a different 2018 incident was identified.
Further details about the incident may emerge over time.
