The Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) experienced a data breach that involved unauthorized access to its systems and files on or around July 6, 2024. The incident was publicly announced on or about March 18, 2025, after an investigation.
This breach affected an estimated 517,487 individuals. Exposed data included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state ID numbers, account and payment/financial information, health insurance/medical information, passwords, and usernames. PSEA notified the Maine Attorney General on March 17, 2025, and class members in the US were sent notice around March 18, 2025.
Breach details can continue to emerge in the future, and official notifications to consumers may be delayed as investigations proceed.
