On or about August 8, 2025, Markowitz Ringel Trusty & Hartog, P.A. (MRTH) discovered suspicious activity on its network. The firm's investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed or acquired certain data on that date. MRTH notified law enforcement, secured its systems, and began notifying potentially affected individuals in April 2026.
The compromised data may include names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account information, payment card information, and medical or health insurance information. While the total number of affected individuals is not explicitly stated, notifications were sent to residents in at least Indiana and Massachusetts. MRTH offers 24 months of TransUnion credit monitoring to those affected, and states it is unaware of any attempted or actual identity theft or fraud as a result of this incident.
More details may emerge as investigations continue and affected individuals receive notifications. It is important to note that information can take time to become fully public.
