Heart Care Centers of Illinois (HCCI) experienced a data breach due to unauthorized access to an employee email account between August 22, 2024, and November 6, 2024. HCCI discovered the incident on January 15, 2026, and determined on June 11, 2026, that patient and employee information may have been accessed.
The compromised data types include names, mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license/state ID numbers, payment card information, financial account information, passport numbers, and medical data such as treatment, condition, diagnosis, prescription, health insurance, provider, telephone, and fax information. The number of affected individuals has not been publicly disclosed.
HCCI began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on July 10, 2026. While law firms are investigating a potential class action lawsuit, no class action has been formally filed according to the provided sources.
