UFCW Local 342 and its affiliated funds experienced an external system breach (hacking) that occurred on April 25, 2025. The organization discovered the breach on February 12, 2026, and reported it to the Maine Attorney General on March 20, 2026. McDonald Hopkins attorney Blair Dawson submitted the breach notification.
The breach affected 56,615 individuals, including 30 Maine residents. The compromised data included name or other personal identifiers in combination with other unspecified sensitive personal information. It has not been publicly confirmed whether Social Security numbers, medical data, or financial information were exposed. Notifications to consumers were sent on March 9, 2026, and identity theft protection services were offered for 12 months through Transunion.
