UFCW Local 342, a labor union representing workers primarily in New York and New Jersey, suffered a data breach between April 25 and April 28, 2025. The breach was discovered on February 12, 2026, and officially disclosed to the Maine Attorney General's Office and Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on March 9, 2026.
The breach affected 56,615 individuals, exposing sensitive data including Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, medical records, financial account information, names, dates of birth, and addresses. Notification letters were mailed to affected individuals on March 9, 2026, and the union established a toll-free response line and offered complimentary credit monitoring services.
