Tekni-Plex, Inc., a Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of medical device components and packaging materials, experienced a ransomware data breach that was discovered on November 18, 2024. The RansomHub group claimed responsibility on December 13, 2024, stating they obtained 424 GB of data.
This incident has affected at least 2,600 individuals across states like Texas, Washington, Massachusetts, Montana, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Exposed data types include names, Social Security Numbers (SSNs), driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, addresses, government IDs, financial account information, medical information, and health insurance information. While official sources confirm at least 2,600 affected individuals, the final count remains unconfirmed.
Data breach notices were issued with an access period from October 24 to December 27, 2024, with consumers being notified starting September 24-25, 2025. Tekni-Plex is offering 12-24 months of free credit monitoring through IDX.
