An investigation determined that an external party gained unauthorized access and removed data between December 8 and December 9, 2025. The company notified the Maine Attorney General on April 28, 2026.
This data breach potentially exposed the names and Social Security Numbers (SSN) of 10,282 individuals. The company has not identified any indications of identity misuse or fraud connected to this incident. MSE is offering 24 months of complimentary identity monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration services through Kroll.
