On July 16, 2025, Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America experienced a data breach. The incident involved unauthorized access to a third-party, cloud-based CRM system used by Allianz Life. The breach was discovered on July 17, 2025, and reported to the Maine Attorney General’s Office. Regulators in other states and the FBI were also notified.
The breach affected approximately 1,497,036 individuals, including customers, financial professionals, and select employees. The compromised data types include full names, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers (SSNs), mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and policy/contract numbers. Financial account and health information stored in the CRM may also have been exposed. Allianz Life began notifying affected individuals on August 1, 2025, and offered 24 months of identity theft protection and credit monitoring.
